Cookie Policy

Effective date: 15 October 2026

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits, which is how a site recognises a returning browser. Similar technologies do the same job by other means: browser storage that keeps data on your device, invisible images used to register that a page was opened, and scripts that read characteristics of your browser in order to tell it apart from others.

This page lists each of those, says plainly whether it is used on faintnode.online, and explains what does happen when you read a page here.

What we checked

Cookies set by this site
Not used. This website sets no cookies of any kind, for any purpose, including preference or session cookies.
Cookies set by others through this site
Not used. No third party is given the opportunity to set a cookie here, because no third-party content of any sort is loaded. There are no analytics tags, no advertising tags, no social buttons and no embedded video or maps.
localStorage
Not used. Nothing is written to your browser's persistent local storage.
sessionStorage
Not used. Nothing is written to your browser's per-tab session storage either.
IndexedDB
Not used. No database is created in your browser.
Tracking pixels
Not used. There are no invisible images, beacons or similar devices on any page. The only graphics on this site are drawn by CSS and inline SVG written into the page itself.
Browser fingerprinting
Not used. Nothing here reads your fonts, canvas, screen characteristics, plugins or device details in order to identify your browser.
Web fonts and third-party scripts
Not used. The site uses the typefaces already installed on your system, and the only script is a short first-party file that runs the small-screen menu and the print button on the checklists page. A page on this site makes zero requests to any other server.
Server access logs
Used. This is the one entry in this list that applies. See the section below.

Why there is no cookie banner

A consent banner exists to obtain permission for something. Nothing on this site requires permission, so a banner here would be asking you to agree to nothing, which would be untrue as well as irritating. If this site ever does introduce a cookie, this page will be rewritten first and a working consent mechanism will be in place before any cookie is set — not afterwards.

What does happen when you read a page

Your browser asks our hosting provider's server for a file, and the server records the request in a standard access log. An entry can contain your IP address, the date and time, the URL requested, the referring page if your browser sends one, and your browser's user-agent string. Those logs are kept for 30 days and are used to keep the site available, to identify abuse and to diagnose faults. That is the entirety of what is recorded about a visit. The Privacy Policy sets out the same two categories in more detail.

The checklists do not remember your ticks

The checklists throughout the course and on the All checklists page are printed boxes rather than interactive ones, and this is the reason: remembering a tick would mean writing to localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB or a cookie, and none of those is used here. There is no fingerprinting and no pixel standing in for them either. Print the page and use a pen.

After you follow the affiliate link

This site publishes one paid affiliate link, described on the Affiliate Disclosure page. Following it takes you to a different website. World of Tanks and the affiliate network that operates the link may set cookies or use similar technology on their own domains, typically to record that the referral came from here. indefinido trade s.r.o. does not control those cookies, cannot switch them off and does not read them. Their own cookie and privacy notices are the place to check what they do.

Blocking or clearing cookies in general

Nothing here needs blocking, but the controls are worth knowing for the rest of the web. Every current browser has a privacy or content settings area where you can block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, delete cookies already stored, or clear everything for a single site. Most also offer a private or incognito window that discards cookies and storage when the window closes. Blocking cookies broadly will break sites that rely on them for logging in; this one will behave identically either way.
