Affiliate Disclosure

Effective date: 15 October 2026

Faintnode is paid for by affiliate commission. This page explains exactly how that works, what it pays for, where the links are, and what decides the content of the course instead of the money.

The arrangement, stated plainly

One product named in the course, World of Tanks, is linked through a tracked affiliate link. If you follow that link and go on to create and activate an account, the affiliate network that operates the link pays indefinido trade s.r.o. a commission. That commission is the entire income of this website. There is no advertising, no sponsorship, no paid placement, no newsletter, no paywall and nothing for sale here.

The commission is paid by the network out of its arrangement with the advertiser. It does not change anything for you: your costs are identical whether you reach the product through our link, through a search engine, or by typing the address yourself. Nothing is added to a price because you came from here, and we are not able to offer you a discount, a code or an exclusive anything.

Where the affiliate links appear

There are exactly two places on this site where the affiliate link is published, and both are flagged.

  • On the course index, in the section headed "Where World of Tanks appears in this course, and why".
  • In Step 4, in the section about the account procedure, which is the part of the course that corresponds to what the commission is paid for.

Every one of those links opens in a new tab, carries the markup that tells search engines it is a paid link, and sits directly above a short note saying so in plain words. The destination address is the real destination: we do not route clicks through an intermediate page of our own, do not rewrite the link when you click it, and do not hide where it goes. Hover over it and your browser will show you exactly the address it will open.

No other page carries an affiliate link. The checklists, the four legal pages, the About page and the Contact page carry none at all.

What the commission does not decide

This is the part that matters, so it is worth being specific rather than offering a reassurance.

The commission did not decide the structure of the course. The five steps follow the five questions a beginner asks, in the order they ask them, and that structure was fixed before any link was placed. Step 4 contains a link because Step 4 is about account setup, not the other way round.

It did not decide the length or the wording of any step. No paragraph was added, extended or softened to make a click more likely, and no warning was removed to avoid putting someone off. Step 5, which is the most sceptical part of the course, is also the longest discussion of spending on the site.

It did not decide which products are mentioned. We name one product because we have one affiliate arrangement, and we say so rather than surrounding it with others to make it look like a survey. We do not publish comparisons, rankings, scores or "best of" lists, because we have run no tests that would entitle us to, and a ranking produced by a site with one commercial relationship would not be worth reading.

And it did not decide what we say about the product. We describe World of Tanks only to the extent of what its own programme states: that it is offered for desktop computers running Mac, Windows or Linux, and that the commission is paid when an account is created and activated. We do not reprint its system requirements, its contents, its prices or its interface. For all of that, the vendor's own site is the source.

What does decide the content

  • The five questions. What is this, will it work on my computer, what am I agreeing to, how do I set it up, and what happens over the next few months.
  • Three source types and no others. Australian government publications for rights, classification and safety; operating system documentation for anything about your own hardware; the vendor's own pages for anything about a specific product.
  • A rule about claims. Every general factual statement is either linked to its source or written as general guidance. We publish no statistics of our own, no test results and no benchmarks, and we hold no awards or certifications.
  • A rule about pressure. Nothing on this site tells you that you must act now, must buy something to be safe, or must finish the course. The course works end to end without a single click on a paid link, and it says so on the first screen.

The About page sets out this editorial method in more detail, including how often the course is reviewed and who writes it.

What happens to your data when you follow a link

Following the affiliate link takes you off this website. From that point, World of Tanks and the affiliate network that operates the link may set cookies or use similar technology on their own domains to record that the visit came from us, governed by their own policies. indefinido trade s.r.o. receives commission reports from the network and uses them only to reconcile payments; we do not seek information that identifies individual readers. This site itself sets no cookies and uses no browser storage, as described in the Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy.

Trademarks

All brand names on Faintnode, World of Tanks among them, are the property of their owners. Except for the paid affiliate links described on our funding page, none of those owners is affiliated with Faintnode, and none has endorsed or sponsored it.

Questions

If anything on this page is unclear, or if you think something elsewhere on the site reads as though the commission did influence it, write to info@faintnode.online. That is a correction we would want to make.
